Keeping me amused...

Today I'm not having a very good day. I am physically exhausted, my mind is wandering, and truth be told, I'd rather be anywhere but here at the moment. I REALLY do need a vacation, short though it may be, and next weekend is not coming soon enough. I am so glad I am going away...

I LOVE LONG WEEKENDS!
I LOVE THE FACT THAT MY B-DAY FALLS IN ONE!

Anyway, in my best efforts to do anything but actual work today I have been amusing myself with the internet. I really do wonder what people did at work before the internet...

  1. So apparently now little Maddox and Zahara Jolie each have their own blogs. Those are actually quite funny.
  2. A lady in New Hampshire filed a complaint with the state because her doctor called her obese. I really do hope that my tax dollars aren't being spent in such nonsense!
  3. Meanwhile, all the states got fatter except for Oregon. I think that someone should go advice the nice people of the CDC or the surgeon general or whoever is in charge of obesity policy making that until the country becomes more activity friendly or a bag of lettuce costs less than a loaf of bread, the trend will probably continue.
  4. Cindy Sheehan returned to Crawford in the hopes that Bush the dumbass will see her. If I were Laura Bush, I would be beyond embarrassed to have as a husband a President who will not even show the slightest remorse for getting other people's kids killed. He remids me of Lord Farquad in that scene in Shrek where they are having the tournament and he is like "Some of YOU may die in the attempt, but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make". UGH! Meanwhile, he thinks that embryos shoudl have rights. Nice.
  5. The Kodak people are going to be downsizing due to lack of demand in their photographic products (film, and photo paper). I actually feel kind of bad about this. Dan and I were talking the other day about the fact that he is probably the last person in the island of manhattan with a camera that requires film and shit.

So yeah...that's what has kept me amused today. I hope the day ends quickly. I NEED THE WEEKEND TO COME!!!!!!!

Oh and go wish a happy birthday to Fico who turns 20-a lot today ;)

"I really do wonder what people did at work before the internet..." I'm guessing - work. Thank god we don't live in those oppressive times. :p If you want another long weekend, couldn't you call in sick?

BTW, I'm doing my part to slim down Georgia. It must be all those other people here making us look bad.

Long Weekends are fabulous.

That does suck about Kodak downsizing. I guess they figured it was coming with digital technology outweighing the good old fashion kind.

Long weekends are the best thing ever!!! I think we got one coming up here in DR soon. I usually go to the beach, but I'm so damn broke right now i'll probably use that time to catch up on my reading.

The great Reverend Doctor Abigambi called me today to rub in Cindy's return. He also told me he cruised your blog and feels you two may twins; fraternal that is. Bad days do suck.

What people did at work before Blogs? bored. com and ishouldbeworking.com were the top sites.

I'm sorry annush I have to reply to #4

The president already met with her, and they had a good conversation, the same way he has met with hundreds of families. Now she wants to do it as a political statement against the President which would be wrong for the memory of her own son. Her son died believing on what he was doing, her son joined the Marines despite against her mother's wish and when the Iraq war came she asked him to flee to Canada and he told her no because he believed in the good he was doing in Iraq so much that he was willing and did gave his life for the that cause. Now, by her making this political statement she is dishonoring her sons sacrifice because she is going against what her son believed in.

As far as Embryos, if a human Embryo is not a human then what is it? That embryo if left alone is not going to develop into a mouse, or a puppy, or a tiger cub. It will develop into a human baby, so why it should't be afforded its right to live? Don't get me wrong, I agree women should have right to choose mostly because banning it would eventually cause a major social problem. But regardless I can see and understand the point that in the end that "right to choose" is really a right to kill an unborn human baby.

We just watched Shrek again and yeah, Lord Farquad DOES remind me of a certain 'free world' political leader (tapping chin thoughtfully)...hmmm...who would that be....

Funny that you should mention Kodak. I was just having this conversation with a friend yesterday about how much money I'm saving by NOT buying and ddeveloping film. It is kind of sad, isn't it? I sort of miss that anticipation of waiting to pick up my film... but I DON'T miss looking through pictures that cost and arm and a leg and only finding one good one in the lot!

Hope you have a wonderful long weekend. RELAX!
