So the "new year's resolutions" have taken over my gym. AGAIN.
Every single January the gym is packed no matter where I am. There is no good time to go because there are always eight million additional people who are there simply because they made either going to the gym or losing weight their new year's resolution.
Let me just say that they suck and that us regular gym goers are onto them.
You can always tell who the "new year's resolutions" are. Yesterday, for example, after waiting around for like 10 minutes I was finally able to use my favorite treadmill. I was running so I was sweaty, my hair was up, my face was flushed and the last thing I wanted to do was talk to people.
Then came the lady that occupied the treadmill next to mine.
The woman was perfectly coiffed (hair down), perfect makeup (you know, the kind that requires an hour of effort to make you look natural), with her perfectly matched running suit and a sweater (a sweater!!!!!!). After 47 minutes (I glanced when I got off my treadmill) she had strolled 1.2 miles and was still on the phone.
Anyway, I hate those people. Especially when they go and try to take a class that is regularly full like say kickboxing (that was yesterday) and keep some of the regulars out so that they can attempt to do it meanwhile all they do is either:
a. hurt themselves
b. hurt someone else
c. walk out before the class is over.
I think it's great when someone takes an interest in health and fitness but I think it sucks if you don't get seriously into it and take away from people who have made it their lifestyle. It's kinda' like working out next to Romy and Michelle. Who wants that? seriously...
My only consolation is that I know that in a week and a half 50% will quit and by February they'll all be gone. I AM OKAY WITH THAT!

The ones at my gym seem to last a little longer. Some leave in January and February, but most don't take off until the spring weather in March lures them away.
Dudette, I haven't been in a gym (or excersized at all) since I saw you... and trust me it shows.
I hate that!! January, Monday's and Tuesday's are the worst gym days. They all have the same reasoning. If it's not January, then on Mon/Tue all the morons who pigged out all weekend or got stood up on that date, feel the need to redeem themselves and start working out more. By Wed they give up.
