For future reference...

Some time ago I read on Tomas' blog a set of warnings regarding comments that I felt were unnecessary considering that most of us are adults and hence capable of controlling ourselves.

Apparently I was wrong and now I find myself doing the same thing.

In general, I love comments. I think that comments are a good indication of the fact that most of you guys (my readers) do share some of the same concerns I do, and/or have viewpoints worth sharing.

I have NEVER had to delete a comment until today.

If you feel the need to leave a comment on MY blog, PLEASE use some common sense. Be sensitive to those who don't share your viewpoints. You can say whatever you want, just take a second to think about how to say it.

Do not under any circumstance think that just because I am a Hispanic/American living in NY, I should agree with or justify American foreign policy. Please bear in mind that I am EXTREMELY sensitive in regards to those opinions based on one-sided facts. If you wanna talk about terrorism, instead of going on and on about "us" or "we" or "9/11" remember the fact that terrorism existed long before 9/11 and has been a daily part of life in many countries and put your comments in context appropriately.

Hell, if I wanted to discuss a book with someone, I wouldn't discuss it with someone who just read the
Cliffs Notes!

Other than that, easy on the swearing, easy on the attacking, and if you have an issue to take up with me personally,
email me! It's not like it's that hard.

Thank you.

I enjoy personal attacks. I used to get bloggers who would go into caps lock mode and scream at me to FIND JESUS! (I thought I saw him once at the Home Depot, but may have been mistaken.) Of course, if you want those kinds of comments you usually have to accept anonymous ones. People tend to be more brave (read: insulting) when they can hide. Unfortunately, it's been ages since I got a complaint or personal attack. I must be losing my ability to offend. :(

BTW, I dare you to delete this. :p

What if we don't have an issue with you personally, can we email you anyway?

_I find it hilarious that someone goes into my blog & leaves anonymous messages on what/how I should think/do.

People think "because it's online I can say whatever I want & never be found"; they keep forgetting that online blogs are no less sacred than diaries/journals hidden under mattresses.

"I might be a cold hearted witch -with B- but never a coward" because to me anonymous repliers are cowards that need attention.

You might find this disclaimer useful & don't let them discourage you, most of them are pricks -take the pr & substitute with D-

Adroidette, that's a very cool site! I'm going to link to it right now!
You tell them Annush! This is your blog and people must abide by your rules...

Annush don't forget that not everyone on the net is an adults or for that matter sane.

Interesting rules, but I've always felt that if people hang their personal life out for public viewing, they should expect a little bad with the good. I don't think politely asking for more info is rude as long as you remember the blogger is in his or her rights to refuse.
"Don't be a psycho stalker." What will I do for recreation? :p

you know, i have had my share of stalkers...you know, of the i need a restraining order variety. I thought that rule was beyond fitting!

And people can ask me stuff...I can always say NO! or nothing at all...

I've only (thankfully) had porn comments I had to delete. My own fault for talking about orgasms! I really like your post, BTW, nicely said!

Slds.

Despite some great apprehension, I will post an extremely sensative question on this blog that could set Dominican/North American relations back decades. And it is this: Should 68-year-old Atlanta Brave Julio Franco, a proud Dominican, give it up?

I love Julio, not just because he was a pivotal member of my hometown Texas Rangers in the late 80's and early 90's when they were terrible. The guy is so unconventional, from his batting stance to his tempermental nature.

My favorite Julio story happened around 1990. Before one spring game was scheduled to start, Julio took himself out of the line up. He refused to play because he was "over-caffinated." Jules drank too much coffee before the game, so he was too jittery to man second base. It was the first time in the history of professional baseball that a player was put on the disabled list because of Columbian Dark Roast.

God Bless Julio Franco.
